Paul Elliott Singer (born August 22, 1944) is an American hedge fund manager, investor, philanthropist and political activist. ==Education and early career==
Singer was born in 1944 in New Jersey, growing up in a Jewish family, one of three children of a Manhattan pharmacist and a homemaker. He obtained his B.S. in psychology from the University of Rochester in year 1966 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1969.〔 In 1974, Singer went to work as an attorney in the real estate division of the investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.〔〔
